Join the Carolina Planning Journal (CPJ) and UNC’s Department of City and Regional Planning for a discussion on white supremacy in urban planning.
Building on their recent article, Whiteness and Urban Planning, authors Edward Goetz and Rashad Williams will discuss how white supremacist institutions have been created and perpetuated through urban planning, and will elaborate on how a more explicit analysis of whiteness and white affluence can inform and improve planning practice and outcomes for Black, Indigenous, and other communities of color.
